Nikolaos Aletras

Special Teaching Staff

Nikolaos Aletras is a Doctor of Philoshophy in Film Studies with his research interests focusing on the School Movies Genre (his postdoc research is on the production of a School Movie). He is a member of the Special Teaching Staff in the School of Film Studies (Faculty of Fine Arts, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), where he teaches courses in the field of Film Production. Scientific articles of his, have been presented in Greek and international conferences, and have been published in the conference proceedings.

He is a journalist/film critic and he has written professionally for years, in various newspapers and on-line media. He was the Artistic Director of the Larissa International Film Festival (2009-2017). He is the administrator of the cinematic website, and a member of the National Association of Film Critics and of the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI), too. Articles and reviews of his, have been published in collective publications of the National Association of Film Critics. He was also a member of the Audiovisual Literacy Working Group of the National and Social Forum for Education (Ministry of Education, November 2015 – June 2016).
