Semester:
5th semester

The course aims to students’ acquaintance with the “ideology” of filmic texts and the main theoretical contexts that have been formed with regard to the representations of  different social classes, races and ethnicities in film. Although lectures may refer to the historical evolution of the representations of social classes, races and ethnicities, to their interaction with sociopolitical contexts and the evolution of the main theoretical contexts, the course focuses on contemporary methodologies and contemporary world cinema. By the end of the course, students will be able to analyse, compare and combline different theoretical contexts and to use them for the critical analysis of filmic texts.
