The course aims to introduce students to forms of film adaptations and to their history as well as to present the theoretical and methodological narrative tools used in analysing adaptations. Students will have the chance to apply theories to film extracts from literary adaptations, while comparative analysis will help them expand their critical skills. By the end of the course, by the end of the course, stuents will be able to categorise adaptations, apply the methodological tools for narration to comparative analyses of filmic texts with the corresponding literary ones and to evaluate films as an end product based on a literary source on the basis of film theory and history that they have bneen taught in previous semesters. The course is based on seminars and students’ presence at the 70% of classes in compulsory.
